Souvenirs
The Eiffel Tower is probably the monument with the greatest recognition value in the world, since its shape is so distinctive. Depictions and reproductions of it exist in all sizes, forms and materials and yet in every reproduction one sees the original shining trough.
There‘s no need to go to Paris in order to see the Eiffel Tower, it‘s basically everywhere.
For the works in this series, I printed out a photo of the Eiffel Tower and made a copy.
Then I made a copy of the copy.
Then I made a copy of the copy of the copy.
And so forth.
After repeating the process for forty-nine times, the monument looks distant, a cliché of a cliché of a cliché, but still:
The Eiffel Tower.
